Yowamushi Pedal The Movie CoverDiscotek Media picked up another piece of the Yowamushi Pedal franchise with the Yowamushi Pedal: The Movie feature back in 2017. With home video release material having been done and dealt with, they’re now getting some streaming out of it. The film has been added to Amazon Prime via the AsianCrush channel. It’s free streaming for Prime members but you can also purchase the movie in HD for $9.99 or rent it for $2.99 here.

The film was done based on a story from the original creator with a special race being put into play. Osamu Nabeshima served as the director for the TV series and is operating as the chief director here while Norihiro Naganuma is directing the film itself. He’s working off of a script by Reiko Yoshida and character designs by Yukiko Ban and Yuko Iwasa. TMS Entertainment is again handling the animation side of it.

The property stars Daiki Yamashita as Sakamichi Onoda, Kousuke Toriumi as Shunsuke Imaizumi, Jun Fukushima as Shōkichi Naruko, Hiroki Yasumoto as Shingo Kinjō, Showtaro Morikubo as Yūsuke Makishima, Kentarou Itou as Jin Tadokoro, Daisuke Kishio as Junta Teshima, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Hajime Aoyagi, Junichi Suwabe as Toji Kanzaki, Ayaka Suwa as Miki Kanzaki, Megumi Han as Aya Tachibana, Tomoaki Maeno as Juichi Fukutomi, Tsubasa Yonaga as Sangaku Manami, Tetsuya Kakihara as Jinpachi Tōdō, Satoshi Hino as Hayato Shinkai, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Yasutomo Arakita, Atsushi Abe as Tōichirō Izumida, Koji Yusa as Akira Midōsuji, Hirofumi Nojima as Kōtarō Ishigaki, Tomokazu Seki as Eikichi Machimiya and Yukari Tamura as Kotori Himeno.

Plot concept: After winning the heated Inter-High race, Sakamichi and the other Sohoku team members receive an invitation to compete in the Kumamoto Hi Province Mountain Range Race towards the end of summer. The top-tier teams from around the country compete in this race, including Sohoku’s rivals Hakone Academy (which yearns to take down Sohoku), Kyoto Fushimi, and Hiroshima Kureminami — as well as Kumamoto Daiichi High School’s team led by Shin Yoshimoto.
