‘Babylon’ Anime PRemiere Scheduled

The novel series from Mado Nozaki called Babylon is on track for a TV anime adaptation with Revoroot handling the adaptation and now a key detailed has arrived. The official site has brought out the news that the series will debut on October 7th, 2019 with Tokyo MX befor emoving to satellite services that night. It’s also getting streaming through Amazon Prime in Japan and internationally.

Now, the official site has updated to bring out a new promo and a new key visual along with some staffing details. Kiyotaka Suzuki is directing it with Keisuke Goto on board as the character designer. Revoroot is still on board for animation production. The show is now set for an October 2019 debut with Amazon Prime Video streaming worldwide.

The Japanese cast includes

  • Yuichi Nakamura as Zen Seizaki
  • Takahiro Sakurai as Shinobu Kujiin
  • Kensho Ono as Atsuhiko Fumio
  • M.A.O as Hiasa Sekuro
  • Kenyu Horiuchi as Yasutaka Morinaga

The novel series kicked off in 2015 and has three volumes out so far. Mado Nozaki isn’t a well-known name from the light novel side but he’s been involved in a few projects including the script for the KADO series.

Plot Concept: The series focuses on Zen Seizaki, a prosecutor with the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors’ Office. While investigating illegal acts by a certain pharmaceutical company, Seizaki stumbles across a conspiracy over an election for an autonomous “new zone” established in western Tokyo.
