It was revealed earlier this summer that the fifth volume of the light novel series Shin no Nakama janai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni shimashita, aka Banished from the brave man’s group, I decided to lead a slow life in the back country, would be getting a drama CD bundled with it. That’s set for a September 1st, 2019 debut and with it just around the corner, Kadokawa has a new promo out for it that shows off more full-color artwork from the novel series from Zappon and Yasumo. A drama CD certainly doesn’t guarantee an anime adaptation, and it could be years before one might be announced, but we often see the seeds of a series potential in these. The main cast for the audio drama includes:
- Yūichirō Umehara as Red, a former adventurer turned herbalism shop-keeper
- Yumiri Hanamori as Ritto, the princess of the Rogavia Kingdom and a complete tsundere
- Ayana Taketatsu as Ruty Ruru, Red’s younger sister and the Hero destined to save the world

Plot Concept: The story of the series follows Red, a former swordsman who is kicked out of the Hero’s party when he proves incapable of keeping up with their high-level quests to save the world. Granted a new lease on life, Red decides to take it easy by managing an herbalism shop in the countryside far away from the conflict, but his peaceful days are shattered when Princess Ritto moves in.
