One of my favorite manga and anime adaptations manages to find its way into the market every few years and the folks at RetroCrush are feeding some of that love. They’re now streaming the opening sequence to the series, which was stylish as hell at the time of its original release, featuring the song “Driver’s High” from L’Arc-en-Ciel.
The series originally ran back in 1999 and 2000. What we get here is available for free viewing through the service and I believe it’s available through their app as well.
The series is available to audiences in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
Plot concept: Meet Eikichi Onizuka, a 22-year-old ex-biker and college karate champ. He’s crude, foul-mouthed, and has a hair-trigger temper. His goal: to be the greatest high school teacher in the world! Unfortunately, the only teaching job available is at Holy Forest Academy (no certification required). There he uses his street smarts to deal with colleagues and students alike.
