Australian distributor Madman Entertainment is getting the home video side of another of their properties together with the Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online anime series now updated. The twelve-episode series is getting released as two collections with the first out previously with a June 5th, 2019 release date. The second set was scheduled for an August 7th, 2019 release but I had missed the delay on it at the end of July where it’s now set for an October 9th, 2019 debut.

Masayuki Sakoi directing the series with Yousuke Furoda handling the series composition. Yoshio Kosakai served as the chief animation director and character designer that’s adapting Kouhaku Kuroboshi’s original designs. Studio 3Hz worked on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Tomori Kusunoki as Karen Kohiruimaki/Llenn, Chinatsu Akasaki as Fukaziroh, Kazuyuki Okitsu as M, Yōko Hikasa as Pitohui, Akinori Egoshi as Player, Aoi Ichikawa as Kenta, Atsumi Tanezaki as Rosa, Atsushi Imaruoka as Huey, Ayaka Asai as Eva, Chitose Morinaga as Tohma, Haruka Shiraishi as Tanya, Hinata Tadokoro as Player, Itaru Yamamoto as Summon, Junichi Yanagita as Player, Junji Majima as David, Juri Kimura as Announcer, Keiichi Sigsawa as Novelist, and M.A.O as Anna.

The English dub is written and directed by Alex Von David and stars , Reba Buhr as Karen Kohirumaki/Llenn, Allegra Clark as Pitohui, Faye Mata as Fukaziroh, Ray Chase as M, Cindy Robinson as Eva, Greg Chun as David, Jeannie Tirado as Shirley, Kellen Goff as Lux and Peter, Kira Buckland as Toma, Landon McDonald as Thin Mask, Laura Stahl as Clarence, Morgan Berry as Tanya, Rebecca Davis as Roza, Tamara Ryan as Drill Sergeant, Wendee Lee as Sophie, and Xanthe Huynh as Anna.

The light novel itself back in 2014 and has five volumes out so there’s plenty of material for the manga to adapt. The manga adaptation comes from writer Keiichi Shigusawa with artwork by Tadadi Tamori.

Plot Concept: In the world of guns and steel that is Gun Gale Online, LLENN has been a devoted, female solo player. She is obsessed with two things: donning herself entirely in pink and honing her skills with consistent gameplay. She soon discovers her love for hunting other players (a.k.a. PK), and becomes known as the “Pink Devil.”

One day, LLENN meets a beautiful yet mysterious player, Pitohui, and the two click right away. Doing as she is told by Pitohui, LLENN enters the Squad Jam group battle.
