The summer 2019 anime series Given is getting its home video releases handled by Aniplex Japan and they’ve set a shorter schedule for it. The twelve-episode series is getting a four-volume release that begins on September 25th, 2019. With the DVD, the first volume is priced at 5,500 yen while the remaining are at 6,500 yen each. With the Blu-ray, it’s the same layout with the first at 6,500 yen and the rest at 7,500 yen. Both formats list each set as a limited edition.

The show has Hikaru Yamaguchi directing based on the scripts overseen by Yuniko Ayana. Studio Lerche worked on the animation production for it.

The Japanese cast includes Shougo Yano as Mafuyu Sato (guitarist and vocalist), Yūma Uchida as Ritsuka Uenoyama (guitarist), Masatomo Nakazawa as Haruki Nakayama (bassist), and Takuya Eguchi as Akihiko Kaji (drummer).

The series is based on the manga by Natsuki Kizu which is serialized in Cheri+ magazine. It began in December 2017 and has five volumes out as of April 2019.

Plot Concept: Somehow, the guitar that he used to love to play and the basketball games that he found so fun just lost their appeal…

That was until Ritsuka Uenoyama randomly met Mafuyu Sato. Ritsuka had started losing his passion for music in his everyday life, but then he hears Mafuyu sing for the first time. The song resonates with his heart and the distance between them starts to change.
