DC Partners with WriteGirl to Inspire Next-Gen Creators

DC continues to work an interesting game in seeding the next generation of not just fans but writers. I’ve enjoyed their approach in the last few years with working in bringing out the Young Adult novel line and a kids line of books that helps to put the characters and concepts in front of kids in a way they wouldn’t be otherwise. While films are the big part of where people know the characters, kids have to be approached in a different way and DC has definitely been doing that.

Another piece of the puzzle has shown itself now as DC has partnered with WriteGirl where they had a workshop to teach and educate young writers on how to handle superheroes, comics, and DC characters in particular. Every kind of project has its own needs and comics are very different from novels and other mediums, so exposing these young writers to a medium that might click with them better than novels, or launch them in a different way, is pretty exciting.

Check out the five-minute piece below to see what kind of an impact it has on the writers and how it motivates them.
