When a group of friends decides to make a movie over a long summer holiday, they end up learning a little about filmmaking and a lot more about each other and themselves.

Sentai Filmworks brought out the Waiting in the Summer series on Blu-ray previously but like its DVD incarnation, it was in its original Japanese with subtitles only. Now, Sentai has a new bilingual edition coming out on August 20th, 2019 and it looks like dub fans can sample it streaming before buying. HIDIVE has confirmed an August 8th, 2019 debut at 1:00 pm ET for the series with a new episode weekly but also including the OVA at the end.

Availability is set for:

  • The United States & Canada (US, GU, PR, AS, MP, VI, CA, PW, FM, MH)
  • Central America (BZ, CR, SV, GT, HN, MX, NI, PA)
  • South America (AR, BO, BZ, BR, CL, CO, EC, FK, GF, GY, PY, PE, GS, SR, UY, VE)

The Blu-ray set is priced at $69.98 and the extras include the clean versions of the opening and closing sequences.

Plot Concept: When a group of friends decides to make a movie over a long summer holiday, they end up learning a little about filmmaking and a lot more about each other and themselves. What begins as a simple way to avoid the summer doldrums quickly turns into something much more complex, intimate, and downright revealing. As the summer heats up, so do the maturing relationships between the young cast members, taking some new, and sometimes unexpected, turns.
