The summer 2019 anime series Given is part of the Noitamina block on Fuji TV and Crunchyroll is handling the simulcast for it. They’re doing some new promotion for it by bringing out the opening and closing sequences for it, giving fans a chance to check out the show pretty easily. The opening features the song “Kizuato” by Centimillimental while the ending theme song is “Mirutsuke” by Given.

The show has Hikaru Yamaguchi directing based on the scripts overseen by Yuniko Ayana. Studio Lerche is handling the animation production for it. Check out the launch video below as well as an illustration by the original creator celebrating the announcement.

The Japanese cast includes Shougo Yano as Mafuyu Sato (guitarist and vocalist), Yūma Uchida as Ritsuka Uenoyama (guitarist), Masatomo Nakazawa as Haruki Nakayama (bassist), and Takuya Eguchi as Akihiko Kaji (drummer).

The series is based on the manga by Natsuki Kizu which is serialized in Cheri+ magazine. It began in December 2017 and has five volumes out as of April 2019.

Plot Concept: Somehow, the guitar that he used to love to play and the basketball games that he found so fun just lost their appeal…

That was until Ritsuka Uenoyama randomly met Mafuyu Sato. Ritsuka had started losing his passion for music in his everyday life, but then he hears Mafuyu sing for the first time. The song resonates with his heart and the distance between them starts to change.
