We talked about this yesterday with the full slate of announcements from Netflix but it’s worth pulling out separate for those that don’t check those posts. The upcoming Canon Busters series from LeSean Thomas is set for twelve episodes and is now scheduled to land on the service on August 15th, 2019. It’s a production that comes from Manga Entertainment, Nada Holdings, and anime studio Satelight.

LeSean Thomas is directing and serving as executive producer for the series and worked on the scripts with Natasha Allegri (Bee & Puppycat), Anne Toole (The Witcher), and Nilah Magruder (M.F.K.). Matt Wayne is serving as story editor.

Plot Concept: The series follows the adventures and exploits of S.A.M, a high-end, royal-class friendship droid who’s joined by a quirky, discarded maintenance robot and a brash, deadly fugitive. Together, the unlikely trio embarks on an unforgettable journey in a fantastic and dangerous world in search of S.A.M’s best friend, the heir to a powerful kingdom under siege.
