The mobile game Azur Lane was announced in September 2017 to be on track for an anime adaptation that has a pretty good staff coming on board for it. It’s been quiet the last few months but now the site has gotten a refresh with a new key visual you can see below that reveals an October 2019 debut for the series. The series has Tensho directing at Bibury Animation Studio, which he founded. Jin Haganeya in on board to handle the scripts. A manga is coming later this year in Monthly Comic Rex from Tsuchii as well.

The Japanese cast includes Yui Ishikawa as Enterprise and Mai Nakahara as Akagi.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Game Concept: Azur Lane features an interactive combat system that combines the best of strategy and 2D shooter games. Players must command a flotilla, divided into two parts: the Vanguard Fleet and the Main Fleet. While the Vanguard is responsible for striking and clearing operations, the Main Fleet must focus on fire support and dealing damage to enemy ships. Strategy is key, and players must build their fleets carefully to succeed on the high seas. Players can strengthen their fleets from the base via the Academy and Dorms, where they can earn experience points, buy items from the shop, or improve their skills in the Classroom.
