‘The Expanse’ Sets 4th Season Premiere With Teaser & Extended Clip

2 min read

There was a lot of excitement last year when Amazon Prime Video picked up the rights to produce a fourth season of The Expanse. Amazon has bulked up earlier this year with the first three seasons available and now they’ve set a new teaser trailer that set a December 13th, 2019 debut for the fourth season. That showcases a lot of different sequences in brief but we also get an extended five-minute clip that takes us to New Terra, which just in how its filmed and all of its on-location material makes it feel like a vastly larger show than what we had before.

The fourth season of The Expanse, a Prime Original series, will launch exclusively on Prime Video in 2019 with formal dates to be revealed later.

The project originally got a straight to series order for Syfy as the property was in a very competitive situation. It was the first series for the Alcon Television Group to get the go ahead along with writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby, who worked on Children of Men and Iron Man. The pair serves as writers and executive producers on the series.

Plot concept: A thriller set 200 years in the future, The Expanse follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.
