‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Disney+ Series Gets Logo Reveal

2 min read

The reveal of the Disney+ service more formally recently helped to cement The Falcon and the Winter Soldier miniseries as it’s now scheduled for an August 2020 debut. We also learned that the show is set for a six-episode run and that Kari Skogland has come on board to direct it. Skogland has a number of awards under her belt from working on The Handmaid’s Tale and Sons of Liberty for History while also working on several pilots.

At the panel, it was revealed that this series will take place during “year one” of the MCU but that’s pretty hazy in terms of what they’re actually looking to accomplish. We’re waiting on more details and confirmation of the timeline.

It’s also starting to look like the run will focus in part on the Sam Wilson character taking on the new role from the end of Avengers: Endgame. What’s intriguing is that they’re reporting that Daniel BRuhl is coming back from Captain America: Civil War while Emily Vancamp will reprise her role from that and Winter Soldier.

We previously learned that Malcolm Spellman has been brought on to write a Winter Soldier & Falcon limited series. Spellman’s main credits are with writing seven episodes of Empire and the screenplay for Our Family Wedding.

The series has both Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie for the run with Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios overseeing this to ensure continuity with the films and to work in bringing the talent from the film side to this.
