The sixth season of Agents of SHIELD is underway and it wasn’t long after it entered production that a seventh was given the green light and they began work on that. That season is set for a summer 2020 debut as we’re in the middle of the sixth season but now the confirmation has come in via Deadline that the seventh will be the final season.
“When you know that’s what you’re doing, you can take greater risks, of life and death,” Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb said. “Those kinds of decisions suddenly now are real on the table because you’re not playing how do we undo this when we get to the next season. You’re playing that this is going to be the end of the story.”
The series stars Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Agent Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons and Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie.
