‘Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shōmei Shite Mita’ Anime Adaptation Detailed

A new anime TV series was announced in January 2019 with the manga Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shōmei Shite Mita, which translates as Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It, being slotted for adaptation. The official site has updated to reveal a 2020 premiere for it along with the staff and cast. Toru Kitahata will direct it with Kenta Onishi assistant. Rintarou Ikea is on board with script supervision and is writing them with Michiko Yokote. Yusuke Isouchi is on board as character designer and chief animation director with production being handled by Zero-G.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Yūma Uchida as Shinya Yukimura
  • Sora Amamiya as Ayano Himuro
  • Natsuko Hara as Kotonoha Kanade
  • Nichika Omori as Ena Ibarada
  • Jun Fukushima as Kosuke Inukai
  • Ryotaro Okiayu as Professor Ikeda
  • Momo Asakura as Rikekuma

The work comes from Alifred Yamamoto which began in Comic Meteor and has six volumes out. It received a live-action TV series last fall and has a live-action film coming up in February, which is a pretty full-court press for the property.

Plot Concept: The story focuses on Ayame Himuro and Shinya Yukimura, two scientists who are in love with each other. They want to prove that their love can be scientifically proven, quantified, and expressed factually.
