What They Say
Kyoko has sailed through the first two audition tests for the role of Momiji, impressing even the people who are rooting against her. But her competition isn’t known for playing fair, and the more Kyoko shines, the dirtier Kimiko is willing to get. When Kimiko’s scheming scores a direct hit, Kyoko’s professionalism is blasted away by waves of doubt and grudge demons. Her only way to stay in the running is to channel her dark emotions into her acting, but how can she hope to control her feelings about her special weakness—Ren Tsuruga?!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
When a photo comes to light of Sho kissing Kyoko, the President decides to let Ren know. Ren struggles with his place in the company, his feelings and where he belongs and what he should exactly reveal. Meanwhile, Kyoko is having her own struggles as she continues her audition for Momiji. Kimiko says things to Kyoko that throws her off her game, but while she still seems to do well, the director notices her distraction. He challenges her take the role of Momiji and impress him enough to give it to her.

Moko takes Kyoko aside and tries to get out of her what exactly is going through her mind. Kyoko can’t talk about her own feelings, so she tells Moko about what Kimiko said about Ren and her. Moko and Kyoko overhear two men stating the story Kimiko talked about can’t be true and that she is actually focused another guy. In the end, Kimiko was caught breaking the rules by watching Kyoko’s audition and was forced to withdraw from the audition. Now, with the correct information and determination returning, Kyoko is ready to win the role of Momiji. Now, it’s Kyoko’s turn to support Moko and her audition.

In Summary:
I feel this has been one of the more intense volumes of this series. I had good action and emotion to easily carry the story through to the end of the volume. It also had very few gags, which I’m glad for. The story in the past had almost too many and overwhelmed and distracted the story at times. This time it was paced so nicely, I was done reading and left wanting for more! It’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed this series this much. Now, only if we could have an anime remake, since it seems to be the thing to do lately!
