Aniplex Japan Schedules ‘Mix’ Anime DVD/BD Box Sets

The story takes place in the same Meisei Gakuen high school as Touch, only it is set 26 years later. Like Touch, Mix revolves around brothers and baseball as the main theme.

The anime adaptation of the Mix manga is getting its home video distribution handled by Aniplex Japan. With the show running as a two-cour project, the spring and summer 2019 series is being released with two box sets. They’re set to land on September 25th and December 25th, 2019 where the DVD sets are priced at 20,000 yen and the Blu-ray sets at 24,000 yen.

The show will be directed by Odahiro Watanabe based on the series composition by Atsuhiro Tomioka. Tatsuto Higuchi, Kenichi Yamada, Yoshifumi Fukushima, and Chinatsu Houjou are all working on scripts for it. Takao Maki is handling character designs while OLM is handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Noriko Hidaka as Minami Asakura, Yuuki Kaji as Toma Tachibana, Yumi Uchida as Soichiro Tachibana, Ryusei Nakao as Isami Nishimura, and Maaya Uchida as Otomi Tachibana.

The manga from Mitsuru Adachi launched in 2012 and has thirteen volumes out this year. It’s related to the events in the Touch manga that ran for twenty-six volumes during the early 1980s.
