Funimation brought out a SAVE edition release with back on February 14th, 2017 of the Nobunagun anime property, which means it’s just about time for a new edition that’s set to arrive on September 17th, 2019. With it being almost four years since the initial edition was released it’s definitely a good time to do it as it brings out the show for a retail price of $29.98 under their Essentials banner. Ahead of that they’ve now added the finalized packaging for it so you can see how this edition, which drops the DVD side, looks. Plot concept: Sio Ogura is a shy misfit who’d rather talk about tanks than gossip about girl stuff. But Sio’s life takes an explosive turn when a school field trip is interrupted by an outbreak of Evolutionary Invaders: hideous alien creatures hell-bent on nuking the planet. During a daring attempt to rescue Asao, Sio discovers that she’s an E-Gene Holder: the reincarnation of a historical figure capable of summoning special weaponry. Possessed by the spirit of legendary warrior Oda Nobunaga, Sio joins forces with the reincarnated versions of Jack the Ripper, Galileo, and Geronimo for a high octane alien shooting spree.
