2 min read

Funimation is getting a new Classics edition out this fall with the sequel series Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu taking the stage. The full twelve episode series is being released in its original Japanese language with English subtitles and the English dub along with the basic extras of the Japanese TV spots and the clean opening and closing. It’s scheduled for a September 10th, 2019 debut where it’ll be priced at $24.98. The finalized cover artwork for the front and back of the release has landed now as well!

Originally out in 2003, the series was directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto based on the series composition by Fumihiko Shimo and Shoji Gatoh. Osamu Horiuchi worked on the character designs and it was produced by Kyoto Animation.

The Japanese cast includes Satsuki Yukino as Kaname Chidori, Tomokazu Seki as Sousuke Sagara, Tomoko Kaneda as Bonta-kun, Akiko Hiramatsu as Youko Wakana, Akio Ohtsuka as Andrei Kalinin, Ikue Kimura as Kyouko Tokiwa, Jun Fukuyama as Issei Tsubaki, Mamiko Noto as Shinji Kazama, Michiko Neya as Melissa Mao, Rie Tanaka as Ren Mikihara, Shinichiro Miki as Kurz Weber, Tomomichi Nishimura as Richard Mardukas, and Yukana as Teletha “Tessa” Testarossa.

Plot Concept: Sousuke’s a great soldier, but he’s an amazingly awkward classmate. Poor Kaname knows that better than anyone, since Sousuke’s her undercover bodyguard at school. How “top secret” can he really be when he’s sneaking around in a teddy bear suit, blowing up lockers, striking out with every girl in sight, and taking a mech to the hot springs?
