After previously bringing out the two halves of the recent continuation of the Berserk manga in anime form, Funimation solicited it all together for one box set. The twenty-four episode series was set for a Blu-ray release on June 11th, 2019 priced at $69.99 but back in April, it was switched to a TBA release – which not all retailers noticed. Now, however, Funimation has started to update on the title again and on their site, they’re now listing an October 1st, 2019 release date for it with no changes to be found to what was originally solicited.

It’s a bilingual release that excludes the DVDs that were created for the combo sets previously so it’s a four-disc set with 34 minutes of extras and a Funimation Digital Copy. That has the episode 12.5 included, promos, commercials, and the clean versions of the opening and closing sequences. Check the trailer below.

Check out our review of the first season.

The series was directed by Shin Itagaki based on the series composition from Makoto Fukami and Takashi Yamashita. Hisashi Abe worked on the character designs while LIDENFILMS handled production with studios GEMBA and Millepensee. The cast has the main characters largely returning from the theatrical films and includes Hiroaki Iwanaga as Guts, Kaoru Mizuhara as Puck, Yoko Hikasa as Farnese, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Serpico, Hiro Shimono as Isidro, Hiroki Yasumoto as Azan, Toa Yukinari as Casca, Takahiro Sakurai as Griffith, Akio Ootsuka as The Skull Knight and Unshou Ishizuka as the Narrator.

Bowes as Collette, Jake Eberle as Narrator, Abbot Kefford as Godo, Kyle McCarley as Judeau, Mela Lee as Schierke, Ray Chase as Mozgus, Wendee Lee as Luca, Brianna Knickerbocker as Erica and Chris Smith as King of Midland.

A TV series was produced back in 1997, which was released by Media Blasters in North America, and a trilogy of films recounting much of the material from that arrived in the last few years as released by Viz Media.
