New ‘Pennyworth’ Featurette Debuts

2 min read
It's like Master Keaton in live-action form.

Last summer saw Epix giving a straight to series order for Pennyworth for ten episodes that focus on our favorite butler that has ably served Bruce Wayne for years. As we’ve seen throughout the character’s history and alternate timeline material, there is a rich history to be had here (think Master Keaton for my manga friends) in how it could be handled. With a series premiere slated for a July 28th, 2019 with Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon from Gotham serving as showrunners, we now have a new featurette that steps behind the camera a bit with the cast and creative for the project to talk about it.

The cast includes Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, Emma Paetz as Martha Kane, Polly Walker as Peggy Sykes, and Jessica Ellerby as The Queen.

Plot Concept: Pennyworth is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s billionaire father, in 1960’s London.
