The winter 2019 anime adaptation of the Kaguya-sama: Love is War manga has wrapped up but we learned back in February that there’s a live-action film coming from Shueisha with a premiere date of September 6th, 2019. Sho Hirano of King & Price will be playing Miyuki Shirogane while Kanna Hashimoto will play Kaguya Shinomiya and after getting a brief teaser earlier this year we now have the more formal full-length trailer for it. The film is directed by Hayato Kawai based on the screenplay by Yuichi Tokunaga.

Mamoru Hatakeyama directed based on the series composition and supervision by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Yuuko Yahiro worked on the character designs and A-1 Pictures was behind the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Aoi Koga as Kaguya Shinomiya, Makoto Furukawa as Miyuki Shirogane, Konomi Kohara as Chika Fujiwara, Ryōta Suzuki as Yū Ishigami, and Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Hayasaka.

The manga began in Miracle Jump in early 2015 from Aka Akasaki and moved to Young Jump in 2016.

Plot Concept: Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy’s student council, making them the elite among elite. But it’s lonely at the top and each has fallen for the other. There’s just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss-they’re both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the ‘loser’ in the competition of love! And so begins their daily schemes to force the other to confess first!
