Funimation Adds ‘Dr. Stone’ For Summer 2019 Anime Simuldub Lineup

With Viz Media bringing out the Dr. Stone manga series from Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi, the anime adaptation is set for the summer 2019 season in July and a big update has come in. Crunchyroll previously announced that they’ll be streaming the series on their service this summer with launch details to come as the Japanese premiere is on July 5th, 2019.

Now, Funimation has stepped in to reveal that they’ll be producing a simuldub for the show on their service. Availability for this will be limited to the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand with a premiere date for the simuldub still to be determined.

Shinya Iino directing based on the series composition by Yuichiro Kido. Yuko Iwasa is handling the character designs for it.

The Japanese cast includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Makoto Furukawa as Taiju Ōki, Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, Yūichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio, Gen Sato as Chrome, Manami Numakura as Kohaku, Tomoaki Maeno as Kinro, Ayumu Murase as Ginro, Karin Takahashi as Suika, Reina Ueda as Ruri, Kengo Kawanishi as Gen, and Mugihito as Kaseki.

The first volume landed on September 4th, 2018 and the publisher is offering up the first chapter for free viewing here. The original works is by Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi.
