Way back in December of 2015, amid the wave of idol anime series as adaptations from various gaming platforms are the place to be these days, we learned that the Ensemble Stars! was planned for a 2016 debut. As we learned in February 2018, a new production committee was working to bring it together after the original project was scrapped. The show was recently given a summer 2019 premiere and now the official site has dropped a new key visual that sets a July 7th, 2019 debut for it.

Now, with everything within reach, Bandai Namco has brought out the latest promotional video for the series that clocks in at 90-seconds and provides more details for Japanese-specific broadcast debuts.

The new project has Junpaku Yagurashita as the chief director with Yasufumi Soejima as the series director working from the scripts by Shinichi Inotsume. With Happy Elements handling the animation production, Tomoyuki Shitaya and Eri Nagata are handling the character design adaptations.

Plot concept: Yumenosaki Private Academy, a school located on a hill facing the ocean. Specializing in boys’ idol training, the school has a long history of producing generations of idols for the entertainment world out of the young men overbrimming with talents, like the shining stars in the sky. Due to “special circumstances,” you are a transfer student at the school, as well as the only female student there. In fact, you are chosen to be the very first student of the “producer course,” and your task is to produce these idols… We hope you will enjoy your journey with the idols you meet at the academy, as well as the vigorous ensemble that together you will make.
