I can’t say that I’m warming up to the show but as it went on and settled down it frustrated me less, especially when Yatogame mellowed out a bit. Here, we get Jin at school and coming across her the club room during lunch here they both went for some peace and quiet away from the cafeteria. For her, she’s got a pretty basic lunch as it’s straight out of the package and put into the bento box, but she’s got some good flavoring to work it with. Yatogame shows us a pretty intense eating game on her part and it’s fun watching the little dances that represent the approach to food seasoning that she has here, of which there are many, much to Jin’s surprise.
In Summary:
While Jin isn’t a stranger to tasty or spicy foods from his time in Tokyo where there’s a lot of variety, he’s getting exposed more to Yatogame’s style of spicy and tasty here more than Nagoya. It’s a cute episode in that it’s narrowly focused on just these two characters away from everything else and that helps a lot. But it is also just repetitive in a lot of ways as he just keeps admiring the number of sauces and seasonings she’s seemingly pulling out of everywhere.
