One of the things that’s great about TCAF is that they get some fantastic creative people there for some really strong sit-down interviews. As much as I love the 2-3 minute blurbs we get here and there from comic conventions when someone remembers that they can get these things made, TCAF is one of the places where you get the meat of a conversation.
With the latest TCAF in the can, Viz Media is now presenting the 85-minute panel that made up a conversation with the legendary horror mangaka, Junji Ito. The interview starts at 11:22 but there’s some good stuff in there at the beginning about the location, creative respect, respect for the past and privilege gained from it, that’s worth taking in since so many stories are based in such things, especially in the realm of horror.
