TC Entertainment is digging into its catalog of titles to bring something else out that we haven’t seen in awhile with Reideen The Brave. The 1975 series is getting released as two DVD box sets with a twenty-six episode/twenty-four episode breakdown. They’ll both be priced at 20,000 yen and arrive on May 31st, 2019 and June 28th, 2019 respectively and with the second set just a few days away we now have a look at the cover artwork for it. Each set will come with a booklet and each set will be spread across three discs.

Based on the original work by Yoshitake Suzuki, the series was directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino for the first half and Tadao Nagahama for the second half. Yoshikazu Yasuhiko worked on the character designs and Katsushi Murakami on the mechanical designs with Sunrise and Tohokushinsha Film Corporation handling the animation production.

Plot Concept: After a slumber of 12 millennia, the Demon Empire returns to seize control of the Earth. Reideen, the giant robot-like protector of the lost continent of Mu, senses the evil presence and awakens within its golden pyramid, revealing to young Japanese boy Akira Hibiki that he is the one descendant of the ancient Mu people who must help Reideen save Earth.

He was assisted by his friends, token girl Mari Sakurano (daughter of a scientist fighting the Demon Empire) and several members of his high school soccer team.
