Last fall saw the announcement of an anime adaptation of the Magical Sempai manga for the summer 2019 season and we already learned that Crunchyroll has picked it up. The series recently got a July 2nd, 2019 debut with episodes slotted at the 15-minute running mark and now a new promotional video has landed featuring the opening theme song. The anime adaptation has Fumiaki Usui directing based on the series composition and scripts by Rintarou. Eriko Ito is on board as character designer and chief animation director with LIDEN FILMS handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Kaede Hondo as Senpai
  • Aoi Ichikawa as Assistant
  • Eri Kitamura as Saki-chan
  • Rie Takahashi as Madara-san
  • Daisuke Namikawa as Ma-kun
  • Himika Akaneya as Sister

The work comes from creator AZU that began in 2016 in Young Magazine and has five volumes out as of fall 2018. Kodansha Comics USA is publishing the series domestically in digital format.
