Part of the Fox slate of films that Disney has taken over through the merger, Ad Astra is set for a September 20th, 2019 debut and the first trailer has arrived for it. The film was directed by James Gray based on a script he wrote with Ethan Gross and it has a $50 million budget. Gray has a small list of films he’s worked on but has gotten a lot of attention for The Lost City of Z back in 2016 and I still love his directorial debut back in 1994 with Little Odessa.
The film stars Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, Donald Sutherland, Jamie Kennedy, John Finn, Kimberly Elise, Bobby Nish, LisaGay Hamilton, and John Ortiz.
Plot Concept: Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.
