Bandai Visual Schedules ‘Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory’ Anime BD Priced-Down Release

gundam-0083-coverBandai Visual has another series that’s getting a priced-down re-release with the Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 OVA series taking center stage. The thirteen episode series, which features English subtitles, last saw release in 2015 priced at 25,000 yen. The new set will arrive on February 27th, 2020 and will be reduced to 18,000 yen. Additionally, the Afterglow of Zeon work is getting a separate release where it’ll be Blu-ray-only as well and debut on September 26th, 2019 priced at 3,800 yen. It’ll also feature English subtitles.

Originally released in 1991 and 1992 and previously seeing a DVD release through Bandai Entertainment, the series was directed by Mitsuko Kase and Takashi Imanishi. Toshihiro Kawamoto handled the character designs and served as the chief animation director for it.

The Japanese cast includes Akio Ohtsuka as Anavel Gato, Rei Sakuma as Nina Purpleton, Ryo Horikawa as Kou Uraki, Chafurin as Bernard Monsha, Chikao Ohtsuka as Adm. Eiphar Synapse, Kazue Ikura as Mora Bascht, Kazuhiko Kishino as Ivan Pasarov, Kiyoshi Kobayashi as Aguille Delaz, Kouji Totani as Alpha A. Bate and Mari Mashiba as Cima Garahau.

The English cast includes Dorothy Melendrez as Nina Purpleton, Paul Stephen as Kou Uraki, Sparky Thornton as Anavel Gato, Carol Stanzione as Cima Garahau, Dougary Grant as Lt. Bernard Monsh, George C. Cole as Lt. Burning, Jack Hammer as Chap Adel, Jane Alan as Mora, Jonathan Charles as Scott, Mike D’Gord as Alpha Bate, Richard Barnes as Aguille Delaz, Sean Mitchell as Chuck Keith and Simon Isaacson as Captain Synapse.

Plot concept: Universal Century 0083. Having triumphed in the One-Year War, the Earth Federation has grown complacent, while the last remnants of Zeon forces have been planning one final stand. It all hinges on ace Zeon pilot Anavel Gato stealing one of the new prototype Gundams out from under the Federation’s nose. With a nuclear-equipped Gundam missing and their pride wounded, the Federation ship Albion and rookie pilot Kou Uraki set out in pursuit of the Zeon thieves and the stolen Gundam GP02A.
