Meet Bolt Crank, mercenary extraordinaire, and the man who eats metal!

Originally licensed in 2016 and having seen DVD releases in 2017, Discotek Media is now giving Eat-Man ’98 anime the streaming treatment. After bringing out the original series recently for streaming, this 1998 season is now available. It’s presented in its original Japanese language with English subtitles and is available to viewers in the US and Canada only.

Animated by Studio Deen, the series was directed by Koichi Mashimo who also handled the scripts, worked on the storyboards and handled the series overall composition. It’s based on the 19 volume manga series from Akihito Yoshitomi.

Plot concept: Meet Bolt Crank, mercenary extraordinaire, and the man who eats metal! Through his travels, he stops along the way to make a few bucks and occasionally rescue damsels in distress. His taste for metal gives him quite an edge as he becomes capable of generating an assortment of weapons from his hand! It’s a strange ability, but it seems to come in handy, so to speak. Bolt has an edge over his adversaries, but will that be enough?
