Fall 2018 saw the announcement of an anime adaptation of the Magical Sempai manga. The show is part of the summer 2019 season but there’s no date out of Japan yet and now Crunchyroll has picked up the streaming rights to the series. They’ll update with both date and regional availability closer to its debut. The anime adaptation has Fumiaki Usui directing based on the series composition and scripts by Rintarou. Eriko Ito is on board as character designer and chief animation director with LIDEN FILMS handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Kaede Hondo as Senpai
  • Aoi Ichikawa as Assistant
  • Eri Kitamura as Saki-chan
  • Rie Takahashi as Madara-san
  • Daisuke Namikawa as Ma-kun
  • Himika Akaneya as Sister

The work comes from creator AZU that began in 2016 in Young Magazine and has five volumes out as of fall 2018. Kodansha Comics USA is publishing the series domestically in digital format.
