Funimation brought out the home video release for the spring 2018 anime series High School DXD Hero recently and now they’re doing some new promotion for it. That’s come in the form of an unboxing of the limited edition release that’s definitely well put together. The regular edition came out alongside the limited edition back on April 30th, 2019 and you can see the full unboxing below. Priced at $84.98, the set comes with some neat pack-in elements within the heavy chipboard box. That includes an exclusive fabric poster, a translated light novel, and something they’re calling a tasteful artbook.

The set has the thirteen episode run and includes it in bilingual form and also has a digital copy available. On disc extras include the Boobies & Heroes feature, two commentaries, previews, and the clean opening and closing sequences.

Check out our review of the release.

The English cast includes Josh Grelle as Issei Hyodo, Jamie Marchi as Rias Gremory, Kelly Angel as Akeno Himejima, Leah Clark as Asia Argento, Jad Saxton as Koneko Tojo, Alison Viktorin as Gasper Vladi, Sean O’Connor as Yuto Kiba, and Lauren Landa as Xenovia Quarta.

Adapting the ninth and tenth volumes of the light novel series, it’s directed by Yoshifumi Sueda based on the series composition by Kenji Konuda. Makoto Uno is handling the character designs with studio Passione handling the animation production.

The previous seasons were directed by Tatsuya Yanagisawa based on the series composition by Takao Yoshioka and character designs by Junji Goto with animation from TNK.

The light novel series began in 2008 and has twenty-two volumes to its name so far. A manga adaptation kicked off in 2010 with the main run of it having nine volumes, but there are a few spinoffs as well. Yen Press has picked up the main manga as well as the first spinoff from 2012. A 3DS visual novel game was released at the end of 2013 in Japan as well.

Plot concept: Issei and his harem of hotties are back to take on their biggest, boldest, bounciest adventure yet as they fight to prevent Ragnarok (aka the end of the underworld)! With summer vacation just around the corner, Issei’s got one thing on his mind spending sunny days with bikini-clad babes. Unfortunately, the Chaos Brigade is planning something big, and with heavy-hitters like the Norse God Loki in their corner, the House of Gremory is going to have to survive Rias’ underworld boot camp if they hope to stand a chance. While they prepare, dark forces gather strength behind the scenes, Koneko’s family reunion turns into a real catfight, and Asia must survive an indecent proposal from a high-ranking demon. With plenty of balls-to-the-wall battles and bare-it-all beauties, fans of High School DxD should start making room on the shelf their perfect pair is about to become a menage a trois.
