The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Things haven’t been easy when it comes to Jin and Yatogame getting along since she’s defensive as he’s an outsider to the area. Jin really wants to be friends with her but she’s just pretty intense as we see there’s a lot of pictures showing how angry she is when it comes to talking or thinking about him. Gifu delights in that and we see how she and Mie handle it since they’re not from the area either, and it’s cutely creative but also works since they’re more local to Nagoya than Jin was before. You do feel for Jin a little but he brought a lot of it on himself so it makes sense that he’d accept Gifu and Mie’s help in learning how to fit in.
In Summary:
Regional differences are things that can be fun to play up and tease a bit provided it does it the right way, which this series seems to do. You don’t want it to become mean or upset people, though there’ll always be someone that takes it far more seriously than they should. Seeing the lengths that Jin will go to in order to get on Yatogame’s good side works nicely as it’ll also help him to fit into the place in general. It’s light on Yatogame this time aorund as well and that definitely helps.
