New ‘Swamp Thing’ Posters Arrive

Swamp Thing centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her.

With Titans out there and Doom Patrol wrapping up soon, the next DC Universe series with Swamp Thing is certainly showing that it’s going in its own way and direction from start to finish. The first trailer for the series that’s set to debut on the service with a May 31st, 2019 came out recently and now the marketing has rolled out two new character posters that focus on Crystal Reed as Abigail Arcane and Andy Ben as Alec Holland as it plays the supernatural horror element quite well.

The project has Mark Verheiden writing it with Gary Dauberman and both will serve as executive producers as well. It’s scheduled for a ten-episode first season.

The cast includes Crystal Reed as Abigal Arcane, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, Derek Mears as Swamp thing, Maria Sten as Liz Tremayne, Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu, Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, Will Patton as Avery Sunderland, Henderson Wade as Matt Cable, Kevin Durand as Jason Woodrue, Leonardo Nam as Harland Edwards, Ian Ziergin as Blue Devil, and Adrienne Barbeau.

The production for this comes from the Atomic Monster folks, which is James Wan’s company, in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Plot Concept: Swamp Thing centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all!
