What They Say
Armed with a total of 101 votes after a one-on-one match with the vice president and a near-death gambling showdown against the Inbami sisters, Mary enters the top-three ranking for student council president.

In tenth place is Yumeko, who has narrowly avoided elimination. With the president’s seat still up for grabs, Yumeko joins hands with an elite Momobami member and vicious Kirari-hater hungry for the title, and that person is none other than…Terano Totobami!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Yumeko seems to have the traits of a cat. But if she started with nine lives, how many does she have left after her uninhibited lust for gambling both with her money and her very life? Because she certainly used up one of those lives in her last match where she was poisoned and nearly died.

None the worse for wear, Yumeko jumps right back into a dangerous game with five other players. Funny timing for this release given that it is tax season in the U.S. This game is called the Greater Good Game. On the surface, it is a simple game where each player either gives themselves five coins or gives those coins to taxes. All the coins in the tax jar are doubled and given back to each player, whether that player paid taxes or not. The trick to getting people to pay taxes is that they must reach a coin count by around five that can only be reached if most players pay their taxes every round.

The complicated factor to this game is determining who isn’t paying their taxes. The players can vote out the traitor and steal their votes. Thus, Yumeko and Sumeragi should have an advantage given their friendship. However, they didn’t know what the game was going to be beforehand, so it is anyone’s guess as to who is playing fair.

It quickly becomes apparent that two players are not paying their taxes. Players lash out as this game becomes like a game of Clue, as in whodunit? But playing in the background is a cat and mouse game between Sumeragi and the disgraced Manyuda. Sumeragi loves him and holds his Life Plan after his brutal defeat to Yumeko. Manyuda doesn’t have much drive left and seems to hate Sumeragi just as much as he hates Yumeko. Will Sumeragi fall on her sword in hopes of getting Manyuda back to his old self?

In Summary:
The election gambling is in full swing as students learn the various ways to game the system. Specifically, the fact that students can be bribed into giving you their votes by purposefully losing a gambling match. Whether it’s a rich student buying votes with cash, the school idol buying votes with photo-ops and handshakes, or the former student president buying votes as loyalty, there are very few limits on this election. Mixed up in all of this is the bizarre deal brokered between the vice president of the school and Mary. With the vice president being the president’s twin sister, Mary has to be extremely careful she doesn’t get caught in some scheme those sisters have cooked up for her.
