What They Say:
Chi is a sweet playful kitten, always full of energy. She gets milk from Yohei, and is relaxing at home, nice and full. As she searches around the house for something exciting, she comes across Yohei walking with a handful of rubber balls. The balls bounce everywhere as he drops them, and Yohei and Chi can’t get more excited. The day ends with Chi and the family making a great memory together.

Getting back to Chi and her family in the last episode after spending a few episodes on Come-Come’s journey after discovering his family doing so well compared to his own journey was welcome. Chi’s always a fun character to watch but there’s a different kind of delight when you get her dealing with the whole family. It’s silly and warm in all the right ways. But I dreaded this episode after seeing that it’s another Fluffyland episode and knowing there’s still one more to come as well. Thankfully, it has a bit more than just time in the Fluffyland place and that helps to watch – though just for a couple of minutes.

It’s good to see that Chi has realized Come-Come isn’t around as she calls out to him and we get her siblings showing up as well, who end up offering to help search for a bit. This also comes after seeing just how much Come-Come is adjusting to his new life and enjoying all the freedom and discovery. So, Chi and the other two kittens decide that they should try and see if he’s in the Fluffyland place, which they luck out in being able to enter again very easily. I really did not care for the couple of episodes of this we had previously and I’m not enjoying this third round of it either as they explore and forget for a time the real reason they came here. Which is understandable since there are silly things to ride and lots of fish to ett combined with some good sunlight to warn a kitten’s bones. But it just rubs me the wrong way as it did before.

In Summary:
I enjoy Chi’s Sweet Adventure a great deal overall and this season has had some really strong and emotional material to it. But the Fluffyland material, which exists for obvious reasons, just doesn’t do anything for me and pretty much takes me out of what’s been built so far. A little lightness and silliness is important though and I imagine kids watching the series just love these episodes and how crazy they are compared to the rest, which makes them successful. For me, it’s just a struggle but I know I’m not the target for it.
