J-Novel Club Acquires ‘Discommunication’ Manga

1 min read

With J-Novel Club picking up a lot of manga for digital release based on light novels, they’ve also got a series that’s original with Riichi Ueshiba’s Discommunication. The series ran from 1992 to 2000 for thirteen volumes but had a tighter re-release in seven volumes a few years later. It also saw an anime adaptation through a spinoff manga Yume Tsukai in 2006. Ueshiba is known more stateside by fans for his work on Mysterious Girlfriend X.

Plot Concept: Togawa is dating the resident class weirdo, and their relationship is even more non-standard than she expected! They’ve never even kissed, but he’s tasted her tears, cleaned her ears, and shaved the nape of her neck! And also walked her through a Buddhist ritual that opened her third eye and brought her spiritual peace and a good night’s sleep. It is indeed a wonder, in more ways than one, that she can’t help but feel drawn to him.
