Netflix Reveals Second Season Trailer For ‘The Rain’

Overseas apocalyptic series are intriguing.

One of the things that drew me to anime as a kid was seeing the kind of end of the world projects they came up with and how different it was from Hollywood. Much can be said the same elsewhere in the world, which is why as an adult I’m drawn to all kinds of projects that delve into the same. A Danish series landed in May 2018 with The Rain and now the second season is coming up on Netflix with a May 17th, 2019. The first trailer for it has landed and it looks like it’s upping the stakes from the first season.

The cast includes Alba August as Simone Andersen, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen as Rasmus Andersen, Mikkel Følsgaard as Martin, Lukas Løkken as Patrick, Jessica Dinnage as Lea, Sonny Lindberg as Jean, and Angela Bundalovic as Beatrice.

Plot Concept: The world as we know it has come to an end, due to a rain-carried virus that wiped out nearly everybody in Scandinavia. Six years after that event, two Danish siblings emerge from the safety of the bunker where they have been staying. After discovering all remnants of civilization gone, they join a group of fellow young survivors, and together they head out on a danger-filled quest throughout the abandoned land in search of signs of life. The survivors think they have been set free from societal rules of the past, but they quickly find that even in a post-apocalyptic world there is love, jealousy and other coming-of-age dilemmas that young people have always faced.
