With plans for a summer 2019 debut, Warner Bros. Japan revealed previously that the Ni no Kuni game is getting a feature film. The latest update has landed that has revealed the first teaser trailer for the film which shows off some slick animation and a good sense of the tone and style of it. The project has Yoshiyuki Momose directing the film with Akihiro Hino listed as the screenwriter. Joe Hisaishi is on board to do the music composition. All three have been involved in the game series. OLM is set to handle the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Kento Yamazaki as Yu, Mamoru Miyano as Yoki, Kenjiro Tsuda as Gabaras, Maaya Sakamoto as both Saki and Velsa, Kouichi Yamadera as Balton, and Yuuki Kaji as Danpo.

Plot Concept: Yū is a high school student, and his best friend is Haru and his childhood friend is Kotona. Through a certain incident, they travel back and forth between reality and Ni no Kuni. When Kotona’s life is put in danger, the three must make “the ultimate choice.”
