Sentai Filmworks Will Dub ‘My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU’ Anime

Opposites may attract, but putting them together can result in chemical burns, electric shocks, and explosions. And now a dub!

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Episode 6There was a lot of easy news to ignore on Monday since it was April Fool’s Day and those shenanigans have their moments but mostly it’s just a frustrating thing when trying to figure out what’s real or not. Sentai Filmworks made their nod in saying not to believe anything on the internet that day and then announced that My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU would be getting a dub. So, that was easy to ignore.

Then, on Tuesday, we missed that they actually are going to dub it.

Suffice to say, announcements via “prank” generally aren’t fun and combine that with the way that more and more companies only make announcements via Tweet with no formal announcement anywhere just adds to the frustration side of it.

That said, we’re excited for this as it’s a fun series which just had a third season announced. Sentai did not indicate how much of what they have that they’ll dub since they’ve released the first two seasons. But our educated guess is that they’re going to try and get the third season and will dub that for HIDIVE and will want to have both the first and second seasons dubbed to draw audiences to the service with a something you can only get there.

And I suspect it’ll be announced in just a tweet.

Check out our review of the series.

Plot Concept: Opposites may attract, but putting them together can result in chemical burns, electric shocks, and explosions. Enter Hachiman Hikigaya, a pessimistic high school student with no friends, no interest in making any, and the firm belief that everyone else’s cherished high school experiences are either delusions or outright lies.

Hachiman finds himself coerced by his well-meaning student advisor into joining the one-member Service Club. There he encounters club founder Yukino Yukinoshita, a smart, attractive, walking superiority complex who looks down on the entire student body. These two negative personalities are quick to attract Yui Yuigahama, who’s cute, bright, cheerful, and needs the Service Club’s help to… bake cookies? Is this a recipe for romance or the precursor for a nuclear meltdown? Will there be cookies, nookie, or a reason for everyone to play hooky?
