The Pop Team Epic anime series had its broadcast run with a twelve episode run but there are a pair of specials that are getting their home video releases in Japan on April 17th, 2019 debut priced at 4,800 yen. We just learned yesterday that Sentai Filmworks acquired the rights to these new episodes and will be streaming them through HIDIVE soon as part of the spring 2019 season. Now, Crunchyroll has stepped in as well – not unexpectedly considering how wide the rights to the TV series were spread out – to reveal that they’ll be streaming it as well. They have it set for members worldwide outside of Asia. They’ve got it set for an April 1st, 2019 debut at 10:30 am ET.

HIDIVE has their availability for it set where it’ll be open to viewers in the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

The show was animated by Kamikaze Douga with King Records producing it. The original work is a webmanga that began in 2014 as a four-panel project. The first series ended in late 2015 and a second kicked off in early 2016.

Plot Concept: Crude, rude, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger-than-life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars of Pop Team Epic. Based off the popular four-panel webcomic comes a bizarre comedy filled with plenty of absurdity!
