What They Say:
Chi is a sweet playful kitten, always full of energy. She gets milk from Yohei, and is relaxing at home, nice and full. As she searches around the house for something exciting, she comes across Yohei walking with a handful of rubber balls. The balls bounce everywhere as he drops them, and Yohei and Chi can’t get more excited. The day ends with Chi and the family making a great memory together.

The adventures of the cats the last time around with its central focus of Come-Come wanting to find his little brother White was a lot of fun. There’s been a good tragic background presented for Come-Come since early on that bolsters his tough cat image and his friendship with Chi has helped to really make him something more, along with Blackie’s help. But with Anne getting lost and discovering White accidentally, that set him off on quite the adventure to find him and that resulted in them reconnecting at the end of the last episode momentarily. It was a solid build-up that had all the right tension, especially with the score that this series employs.

The two are instantly cute together, though it’s amusing to see White is bigger than he is now since he’s been having a very good life since the kids picked him up. With White making sure Come-Come is well fed and had something to drink, that has him showing off his place even more as he’s just so happy that Come-Come is back. But you can tell that Come-Come feels a little weird about it all in general, and with White having grown so much more than him. Where it gets amusing is when another cat comes into the room, an older one that White calls his sister. White bonded well into an existing household and is very well taken care of and that’s both good and bad for Come-Come because White is not who he remembers him to be – which is why it’s no surprise that Come-Come runs off, letting White have his life.

In Summary:
The emotional aspects at play here is nicely done because Come-Come just sees everyone he knows as having family and a good life except for him, as all he has is his box. It’s shown well in how much this has made an impact on him and what he really wants out of life but at the same time he’s been like this for so long that trying to go another way just isn’t possible for him. What works well is that he runs into Blackie that tries to get him to go back to where he usually hangs out but instead runs into a far more populated commercial district. It just further isolates him – especially when he gets on the subway! Now there’s an ending I didn’t expect.
