The winter 2019 anime series Pastel Memories has gotten its Japanese home video release plans scheduled and now reworked. The twelve episode series was getting a three-volume release that begins on April 3rd, 2019 but that’s been canceled and we’re now getting a box set. Originally, the DVD sets are being priced at 13,000 yen while the Blu-ray sets are at 14,000 yen. Now, the full box set will arrive on June 5th, 2019 priced at 29,800 yen but with a twist. It’ll include the reworked first episode and then episodes three through twelve as the second episode had a parody in it that was apparently not flying legally.
Yasuyuki Shinozaki directed the series with the overall composition being don by Tamai Tsuyoshi. Shinya Segawa adapted Nero Nashiki’s original character designs for animation while Project No.9 handled the animation production for it.
The Japanese cast includes Hiyori Nitta as Izumi Asagi, Mariko Toribe as Ayaka Sakaki, Yumi Uchiyama as Irina Leskova, Yukiyo Fujii as Kaoruko Nijouin, Rie Murakawa as Yuina Machiya, Naomi Ōzora as Michi Edogawabashi, Ai Yamamoto as Minami Senju, Yui Ogura as Chimari Maiko, Yumiri Hanamori as Nao Mejiro, Yurika Kubo as Rei Kurushima, Megumi Toda as Komachi Satonaka, and Kotori Koiwai as Saori Rokugou.

Plot Concept: Akihabara is known as a shining beacon for otaku culture everywhere. But in a not-to-distant the future, that culture is on the decline due to a mysterious affliction causing widespread memory loss. As a result, Akihabara has lost its luster. However, in one of the few remaining otaku shops, Izumi and a handful of comrades hatch a plan to restore lost memories and return “Akiba” to its former glory.
