The fall 2018 anime adaptation of the web manga series Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san from Honda looks like it may not have been enough to save the manga that inspired it. The Pixiv Comic site has revealed that the fourth volume of the series will ship next week and that’ll be the final volume – which means today’s installment on the site is the final chapter. While not a direct correlation, often a manga series lives or dies by how much it grows after an anime adaptation happens as well as whether it moves a lot of home video releases.
The TV anime series was directed by Owl Todoroki with Shin Okashima handling the scripts. Naoko Kakiki served as the character designer with DLE handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Soma Saito as Honda, Yuko Sanpei as Kamibukuro (Paper Bag), Eri Kitamura as Hōtai (Bandage), Kimiko Saitō as Lantern, Shizuka Itou as Okitsune (Fox), Aya Endo as Ko-omote (Little Mask), Kazutomi Yamamoto as Rabbit Head, Hiroki Yasumoto as Full-Face (Helmet), Wataru Hatano as Gas Mask, Toshiki Masuda as Yōsetsu Mask (Welding Mask), Kōtarō Nishiyama as Kendo, Akemi Okamura as Armor, Yōko Hikasa as Pest Mask (Black Plague .Mask), Ayumu Murase as Azarashi and Ryusei Nakao as Majutsush
The manga is serialized on the Gene Pixiv site and has three volumes out so far. The property is the first professional work from creator Honda and the manga is distributed in print form by Media Factory.

Plot Concept: Honda-san is a skeleton working in a bookstore, and he frequently has to deal with foreigners in the manga section.
