Hugs for everyone!
What They Say:
It’s a peaceful day like any other in the cafe Rainy Color. Suddenly, the silence is broken when a girl kicks down the door. Her name is Amami Yoko, and she’s the daughter of the cafe’s owner, Amami Koji. The target of her ire and the cause of all the ruckus is Koji himself. Just then, she catches sight of Rainy Color’s mascot dog, Rain, and freezes. It turns out that she’s afraid of dogs! She trips over the suitcase, topples over, and shatters a vase that Koji was keeping nearby. As punishment for breaking the vase, Yoko is forced to stand in as Rainy Color’s manager for summer vacation.
The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With the girls having found the missing cat, it’s a pleasant reunion at the cafe when Meru shows up to collect her. There’s plenty of positive aspects coming from a pleased group of young women having helped a little girl and it’s also brought Kate into the circle more clearly, after being along the edges and causing tension somewhat unknowingly. There isn’t muhc in the way of actual bonding going on here, especially since Yoko is still a bit standoffish about the whole thing, but it comes together well enough as we get Yoko exhibiting a little bit of actual growth here and being a better person.
In Summary:
There are cute moments to be had here, mostly in relation to Meru, as she’s thrilled to have Cocoa back in her life. The young women that made this happen are pretty pleased by it all as well and it comes together in a nice way so that there’s plenty of positivity about it. There is a little edge of meh coming from Yoko because Kate was involved but she basically lets it go as part of the bigger picture and all that. It’s not like a big moment but it works well enough in the context here with what’s going on. It’s again a nice looking episode for the short time it runs but it’s still frustrating in how the episodes are edited.
