The winter 2019 anime adaptation of the light novels for Koji Natsumi’s property Girly Air Force is getting its home video releases handled by Avex Pictures and they’ve got a shorter schedule for it. The twelve episode series is getting a three-volume release on Blu-ray only beginning on March 29th, 2019 and while we had the packaging for it previously we now have the cover more clearly as well as the packaging for the second volume due out on April 26th, 2019. The four-episode sets are priced at 14,000 yen each. It looks like there’s a limited edition released as well through a specialty where you can get a steelbook version for 16,000 yen.
The series arrives on Crunchyroll every Thursday at 11:30 am ET and the service has worldwide rights outside of Asia. The series is being directed by Katsumi Ono based on the scripts by Shingo Nagai. Toru Imanishi is working on the character design adaptations and as the chief animation director with Satelight handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Ryota Ohsaka as Kei Narutani, Hitomi Ohwada as Eagle, and Yuka Morishima as Gripen. The newly added characters include Shiori Izawa as Phantom and Lynn as Song Min Hoa.
The light novels began in 2014 and have nine volumes as of June 2018.

Plot Concept: Mysterious flying creatures known as Zai suddenly appear, and in order to fight the creatures, mankind creates fighter aircraft called “Daughters,” as well as the automatic fighting mechanism “Anima,” which are shaped like human girls. The story centers on a young man named Kei Narutani, who yearns to fly in the sky, and an Anima considered to be humanity’s trump card, a girl name Gripen.
