‘Try Knights’ Manga Getting Anime Adaptation

The latest installment of Monthly Comic Gene magazine is showing up at retailers and the cover is showing off that the Try Knights manga is getting an anime adaptation.

The latest installment of Monthly Comic Gene magazine is showing up at retailers and the cover is showing off that the Try Knights manga is getting an anime adaptation. With the Japan Rugby Football Union cooperating on it, the series is set for the summer 2019 season to coincide with Japan holding the 2019 Rugby World Cup this year. Gonzo is producing the animation for it and the cast includes Shōgo Sakamoto as Riku Haruma and KENN as Akira Kariya.

The manga comes from Senzoku Erisawa and Shunsaku Yano which began in June 2018 in Monthly Comic Gene and it has two volumes in print so far as of the end of March 2019.

Plot Concept: The series focuses on high school students Akira Kariya and Riku Haruma. One day, the new rugby club member Akira gets advice on running from Riku, who used to be absorbed in rugby but gave it up because he lacked the physique for the sport. Akira takes an interest in Riku, and Riku’s passion for rugby gradually returns. By joining forces, the pair can play a new tactical game and aim for the top of high school rugby.
