Japanese ‘Dragon Ball Super: Broly’ Anime DVD/BD Releases Scheduled

This doesn’t happen too often but the Japanese side of releasing the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film on home video is coming after the North American release as their release windows are different at this point. The film is now scheduled for a June 5th, 2019 release where there will be four editions brought out:

  • BD LE: 8,800 yen
  • BD Reg: 4,800 yen
  • DVD LE: 7,800 yen
  • DVD Reg: 3,800 yen

The limited edition releases are two-disc sets with a bonus disc of extras. This set also comes with a badge set, a 32-piece postcard set, a card folder, and a 60-page booklet.

The film was directed by Tatsuya Nagamine based on the screenplay by Akira Toriyama, who also worked on the character designs. Funimation brought the film out in North America on January 16th, 2019.

The cast from the TV series includes Masako Nozawa as Son Goku, Son Gohan and Son Goten, Ryo Horikawa as Vegeta, Aya Hisakawa as Bulma, Takeshi Kusao as Trunks, Mayumi Tanaka as Krillin, Masaharu Satou as Kame-Sen’nin, Toshio Furukawa as Piccolo, Naoko Watanabe as Chi-Chi, Yuko Minaguchi as Videl, Unshou Ishizuka as Mr. Satan, Kôzô Shioya as Majin Buu, Kouichi Yamadera as God of Destruction Beerus and Masakazu Morita as Whis.
