The winter 2019 anime adaptation of the Manaria Magic Academy property with Manaria Friends: Shingeki no Bahamut (localized by Sentai Filmworks under the name Mysteria Friends) is rolling out its home video releases. Happinet is handling the home video releases for the short-form series and they’ve scheduled a two-disc release for it. With the first set just out we now have a look at the cover and the full packaging spread for it. The sets are both priced at 9,800 yen with five episodes on each which began March 2nd, 2019 and wrapping up on April 2nd, 2019.
The project has Hideki Okamoto directing it with Satoko Sekine handling the series composition. Minami Yoshida worked on the character design and Cygames Pictures worked on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yōko Hikasa as Anne, Ayaka Fukuhara as Grea, Nana Mizuki as Hanna, Wataru Hatano as Owen, Kimiko Koyama as Roux, Kikuko Inoue as Miranda, Yūma Uchida as William, and Chiharu Sawashiro as Heinlein.
The series was scheduled for an April 1st, 2016 debut as part of the Ultra Super Anime Time block, which no longer exists. Originally, it was going to be directed by Takafumi Hoshikawa and he was also handling the overall series composition. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Shigure Murakoshi were on board with scripts while Keiji Ishikawa was handling both character design and serving as the chief animation director.
